Ariel Zedric is a senior from Peoria, IL, graduating with a BA in Community Health and minors in English and Studio Art. At Tufts, Ariel is involved in several organizations, including being the Co-President of Athletes of Color and the Social Justice head of the Student-Athletic Advisory Board. As a member of the Varsity Volleyball team, she has been involved in conversations about how to make athletics more inclusive and welcoming to people of color. Ariel was also recently selected as the Tufts Representative for the Greater Boston Area Undergraduate Poetry Festival and has been published in several national literary journals. She is incredibly passionate about the role art can play in lifting voices, bridging communities, and improving health.
During her junior and senior year, Ariel has worked at the Office of Economic Empowerment within the Office of the Treasurer and Receiver General of the State of Massachusetts. There she assisted with a small business grant project, as well as helped launch a year of EqualPayMA Roundtable Discussions about the gender wage gap. Most recently, she functions as the Outreach Coordinator for BabySteps, a statewide program that encourages families to start saving early for their child’s education. She plans to begin law school in the fall with a concentration in Health Law.
