Christian Senecal, A22

Christian is a senior from Liverpool, NY, majoring in Biology and Community Health. He is passionate about advancing health care access through leveraging technology, data-driven decision-making, and community perspectives.

Upon entering his first semester at Tufts, Christian joined Tufts Project SHARE, which became a core part of his experience at Tufts. Most recently, he served as president, and he continuously worked with other students in support of the universal right to health. He also held many positions in Tufts University Social Collective (TUSC), where he has coordinated programming ranging from a unique, campus-wide event for the 2020 presidential election to an entire week of celebration for graduating seniors.

Outside of Tufts, Christian has sought out experiences that have allowed him to explore health care from many facets. He has studied innovative substance use prevention interventions with Dr. Margie Skeer at the Tufts University School of Medicine for the past four years. During the summers of ‘20 and ‘21, Christian interned at Pfizer and completed projects for a trial testing a medication that would reduce the risk of cirrhosis and liver-related mortality for those with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Throughout 2021, Christian concurrently interned at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Mongan Institute to research methods of improving cancer treatment adherence rates through implementing new eHealth interventions.

Christian is excited to venture further into health care upon graduation and is thankful for all of the resources and support Tufts University has provided him.
