Oumou is a senior from New York and The Gambia. With a passion for understanding the human mind and advocating for children's development, Oumou is currently pursuing a double major in Clinical Psychology and Child Study and Human Development. Throughout her college journey, Oumou has distinguished herself as a leader and an advocate for change. Her dedication to service and academic excellence led her to participate as a Tisch Summer Fellow for two consecutive summers, where she delved into community engagement and social impact initiatives. Oumou has also worked as a student intern at the Faja Lab located at Boston Children’s Hospital where she works with children and their families. Beyond her academic pursuits, Oumou has played pivotal roles on campus. As a Campus Center Manager, she demonstrated her ability to manage operations smoothly and her commitment to fostering a vibrant campus community. Additionally, she served as a SQUAD Peer Leader during the 2022-2023 academic year, and a SQUAD Coordinator for the 2023-2024 academic year, where she mentored and supported incoming freshmen in their personal and academic endeavors. Oumou has also stepped into leadership as President of Child Development Association. Driven by her passion for understanding the complexities of the human body and advocating for the welfare of children and adolescents, Oumou embodies a spirit of compassion, resilience, and leadership.
