Yousef, a senior from from Jerusalem, Palestine, has pursued his academic journey at Tufts University with a major in Mechanical Engineering, alongside minors in Engineering Management and Human Factors Engineering.

Through his journey at Tufts he came to discover his passion for using engineering to help improve the lives of others. Yousef has honed his skills in medical devices and robotics, particularly in product development. His hands-on experience at a medical devices company during a cooperative education placement allowed him to contribute to the creation of products for clinical and surgical applications.

Yousef's commitment to practical solutions and using engineering to help others extends to his involvement as one of three leads on the Spatial Mapping Team. This team utilizes LiDAR technology to create visual-audio-based maps of indoor environments, aiding the visually impaired in navigation. This project operates within the Human Factors IDEA Lab, under the guidance of Professor Intriligator.

Outside of academics, Yousef serves as Co-President of the Tufts Muslim Student Association, where he collaborates with the student union to organize funding for Ramadan programming, fostering cultural understanding and spiritual growth. Along side MSA Yousef also works for Tufts chaplaincy, contributing to the weekly email newsletter distribution and assisting in event setup for various campus organizations. Some of his past roles also include: Tutoring Arabic for the STAAR Center, working in Tisch Library in book processing & managing interlibrary exchanges.

In his leisure time, Yousef enjoys climbing, biking, and practicing calisthenics, finding balance between physical activity and introspection.
