STATEMENT:
When people ask me where I graduated from, I very proudly introduce myself as a Double Jumbo. While an undergraduate at Tufts, I played violin in the orchestra, worked at both the police department and the Safety Shuttle, and was on the board of Hillel. At the Veterinary School Iwas a member of the foal watch, lamb watch and colic teams, as well as SCAVMA (the student chapter of the American Veterinary MedicalAssociation). I volunteered yearly at the Open House in Grafton and participated in fund raising for the school.
Outside of school I was the chairman of the graduate student CJP (Combined Jewish Philanthropies) campaign for all of Tufts University graduate campuses. For the past 19 years I have been the medical director at VCA Brookline Animal Hospital. Every year I oversee numerous student internships as well asmentor pre-vet high school students from nearby. Career services and engagement are very important to me. I am currently a member of the AVMA as well as the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association.
Since graduating from the vet school 30 years ago, I have remained very active in the Tufts community as a member of both the University Alumni Council and the University Annual Giving Leadership Council. I am currently a member of the University President’s Council and for the past nine years have been the Chair of the Annual Fund for the Vet School. I would be honored to again become a member of the Tufts University Alumni Council.
