2025 Tufts Alumni Council Candidate: Nadya Ganem, A20, EG21, EG22, Miami, FL

STATEMENT:

From discovering my future career through an engineering course to becoming a triple Jumbo, my time at Tufts had a profound impact on who I am today. At Tufts, I double-majored in International Relations and Engineering Psychology, volunteered through the Tufts Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness program, worked in a mechanical engineering lab, studied abroad in Annecy, and pursued two master’s degrees, Human Factors Engineering and Innovation & Management. The Tufts community fosters critical thinking that drives innovation to complex challenges and a global responsibility to make an impact on our world.

These Tufts values guided me to a fulfilling career at the intersections of engineering and medical devices. Today, I am a Human Factors Engineer who informs product development of surgical robotic systems, and advises cross-functional teams on ways to make medical devices safe, effective and easy to use for health care providers. Through the wide-range of courses, engineering labs, professors of the practice, and engaging activities at Tufts, I found a unique opportunity to make an impact on patients across the globe.

I am grateful for our Tufts community that is united in a vision to solve complex challenges in our world and inspire future generations. I have enjoyed volunteering for Tufts Alumni Network in the Miami area and connecting with prospective students to share my experience at Tufts. It would be a privilege to support our alma mater and alumni in various life stages through the Alumni Council.
