STATEMENT:
As I ended my Undergraduate experience, I knew that I wanted to follow in the footsteps of many relatives and begin a career as a Dentist. Tufts University has awarded me that opportunity and I am forever grateful to have called such a wonderful institution my home. What led me to attend TUSDM was the community of students, the state-of-the-art opportunities, compassion from faculty, and overall generosity from former alumnus.
After graduating from TUSDM in 1998, I found myself with the confidence and passion to continue on my journey as the skilled, compassionate, and knowledgeable provider that this University had trained me to do be. Through my experiences in the Tufts Clinic and various externships, has further strengthened my commitment of giving back to my community, and that has shaped me into who I am today. I have served on several Boards and as a clinician in Rhode Island community health organizations, served not only my community but my country through the RI Air National Guard, and given back to many youth organizations in which I am passionate about; especially athletic programs. Being apart of these opportunities reminded me of the importance to give back, and create a sense of belonging for others.
Being a Tufts Alum has allowed me to continue on this path. Reading the monthly Alumni newsletters, talking to former classmates and Professors, I am always eager to here about the advancements this University is making. Since my time as a student in 1998, this University has grown in ways never imaginable 27 years ago. Returning to campus on Alumni tours, it brought me joy that there is still that same sense of compassionate individuals, who strive to create a successful learning environment, push their students to be their best, and create the same sense of belonging that I found here.
Joining the Tufts Alumni Council will allow me to do my part to help push this University in the direction they want to go. I believe that my experiences, both as a former student and an active member of various communities, will enable me to create opportunities for new and existing programs by fostering alumni and community support. I am committed to preserving Tufts University's strong sense of shared values, inspiring a culture of giving back, and helping to keep Tufts, one of the top institutions in the country.
