“Is AI Making Humans Obsolete? State of the Art in Artificial Intelligence"

Join the Tufts Senior Connection and Professor Matthias Scheutz as he explains where AI is coming from, where we are today, and where it is headed, since AI is becoming part of every aspect of human lives and societies.  Professor Scheutz will give us examples of AI systems, from ChatGPT to research efforts in his Tufts lab, the Human-Robot Interaction Laboratory.  He will specifically make the point that we need to pay attention to safety of AI technology to make sure that it will fit in with our normative expectations.  He will also show demos from ethical robots with explicit norms that allow them to justify decisions they make to humans with whom they interact.
