Tufts alumni, Christopher Castellani, author of three critically-acclaimed novels, artistic director of Grub Street and faculty and academic board member of the Warren Wilson MFA program and the Bread Loaf Writers Conference, will be revealing what it is like to 'live as a writer' and explaining his research and writing process from his latest book, Leading Men (Viking Penguin, 2019). Leading Men was published in February 2019, by Viking Penguin, and has received Fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the MacDowell Colony, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.  

Christopher currently lives in Boston and was educated at Swarthmore College, received his Masters in English Literature from Tufts University, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Boston University.  

The nineteenth Maxine Newberg Gordon, J70, Book Prize is presented annually to a mathematics major who has demonstrated a love of reading, literature, and poetry.
