Utilizing the discoveries from his labs, Professor Kaplan has co-founded four start-ups focused on silk-based tissue engineering, and has formed long-term collaborations with Suzhou University and other institutions in China.

Kenneth Fan is a successful entrepreneur, with more than a decade of experience in business strategy, operations, financial planning and international partnerships. In 2004, he co-founded Addgene, the world’s leading provider of plasmid research tools, including CRISPR technology.
