THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED

Given the continued climate of uncertainty that we all face due to the Coronavirus, and the recent news of reported cases in New York, Tufts and our host for this event, Morgan Stanley, have decided, with great regret, to postpone our Tufts Entrepreneurial Alumni Event, The Blue Apron Story -- originally scheduled for March 19, 2020, at Morgan Stanley - to a later date this year.

Although this was not an easy call to make, we must take the necessary precautions to prioritize the health and safety of our audience and special guests, especially at this time when every day brings new updates.

We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support of TEAN.

All tickets will be refunded, and we will be back soon with further details on rescheduling this event.

Tufts Entrepreneurial Alumni Network (TEAN) presents: A Conversation with Ilia Papas A04, founder of Blue Apron.

The best entrepreneurs don’t come up with great ideas, they solve market needs. That is exactly what Ilia Papas and his team did when they founded and built Blue Apron. It all seems rather obvious after the fact: start with a society focused on wellness and smart eating, mix in a culture reliant on the convenience of delivery services, and top it off with the reality that our to do lists can no longer be checked off in the span of a single day. You have the recipe for a customer base eager to sign up for Blue Apron and dust off their kitchen appliances.

Equally interesting, and often not as talked about, are the technology and processes that Ilia developed to build the cult company. Ilia's Computer Science degree from Tufts gave him the skills to launch more than just Blue Apron. He helped architect, build, and launch RueLaLa.com, as well as technical solutions for CNN, PUMA. Turner Broadcasting, and Macy’s. As technology integrates itself into every facet of our lives, the success of a company no longer hinges on just a great idea. A young company’s viability depends in large part on its technological infrastructure.

Please join us as we speak with Ilia about the process of growing a start-up into a publicly traded company and the role that he sees technology playing in the future of entrepreneurship. Food and drink provided.
