Hawaii Jumbo Service Day

Join fellow alumni and friends as we continue the Tufts tradition of civic engagement in our local community. This year we will be volunteering with Livable Hawaii Kai to malama the Keawawa Wetlands and restore the habitat of the endangered 'Alae'ula (Hawaiian Moorhen). Below, you will find important information about the event.
Date: Saturday, July 14, 2018
Time: Habitat Restoration from 8:30 am - 11:30am; lunch to follow (Sponsored by Tufts Alumni Hawaii)
Location: 6888 Hawaii Kai Drive, Honolulu, HI
Waivers: Please print and sign the attached waiver, and bring it with you to the event. All participants must have a completed waiver to participate in the event. Participants under the age of 18 must have a legal guardian’s signature.
Driving Directions/Parking: There is no parking lot on the property. Street parking is available along Hawaii Kai Drive and in the neighborhood. Carpooling is highly encouraged. Please click here for a map to Keawawa Wetlands. There will be a Tufts sign as well as a sign from Livable Hawaii Kai on the double gate outside of the property.
Attire: Closed shoes, long pants, gloves if you have them (a limited supply of gloves is available)
Please Bring: Reusable water bottle (water provided in coolers), sunglasses, sunscreen
Other important information:
- Orientation begins at 8:30 am, but if you need to arrive late or leave early, let us know so that you can be accommodated.
- There is no restroom on the property (although we may use the Oahu Club restroom nearby). Please use the restroom before arriving.
- You may be asked to help with the following tasks:
- Pulling weeds
- Planting native plants
- Spreading mulch
