Come and meet the Director of the Institute for Global Leadership, Dr. Abi Williams, and join us for a reception and discussion on preventing deadly conflict.  Abi will also discuss his plans for the IGL in 2018-19, including the EPIIC theme of “Migration in a Turbulent World”.

Dr. Abi Williams, F85 F87, who is also a Professor of the Practice at The Fletcher School, has more than 30 years of experience in leadership roles in the varied worlds of think tanks, the United Nations, and academia to the Institute for Global Leadership and to The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy as professor of the practice of international politics..  He spent four years as the inaugural president of The Hague Institute for Global Justice, where he spearheaded its development into a vibrant think-and-do tank, working on issues at the critical intersection of peace, security, and justice. Prior to leading The Hague Institute, Abi served at the United States Institute of Peace as senior vice president of the Center for Conflict Management and was director of strategic planning for United Nations Secretaries-General Ban Ki-Moon and Kofi Annan in New York. While at Tufts, he was involved in the first EPIIC program on international terrorism.
