Join the Tufts Career Center along with staff from LinkedIn to explore how to create a LinkedIn profile that brings your personal career story to life, whether you’re just starting out, seeking to advance, or making a career change. This workshop offers tips on tailoring each section of the profile, starting with the key insight that a LinkedIn profile is unique and shouldn’t be approached exactly like a resume. Explore ways to add media to a profile, methods for showcasing your career accomplishments and aspirations, and specific examples of connecting, branding, and sharing your stories that can expand your network and career opportunities.

Laurie is currently teaching Graduate Design at USC Roski School of Art & Design and Data Visualization at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena CA; in addition, she is professor emeritus at Pasadena City College. Since 2009, she has consulted as the Education Innovation Advisor for LinkedIn Learning particularly focused on integration and implementation for systems-wide online teaching and learning solutions. Laurie evangelizes all things education and learning as a thought leader and public speaker and writer. Before consulting, she served for 22 years as a professor in Interaction Design and as the director of the Pasadena City College Digital Media, serving the state of California as a regional resource for collaboration between education, industry, and the community. Her passion is digital storytelling.

Alysse Steward (A14) is currently a Higher Education Account Director at LinkedIn. She is also a volunteer and mentor through various programs in her current home of New York City. Alysse started at LinkedIn in 2016, joining as a Nonprofit Account Director. Since then, she has empowered nonprofits and institutions of higher education to leverage to power of the LinkedIn ecosystem to hire top talent, upskill their workforces and student bodies, fundraise, market/sell products and services, and develop their organizations. She has also helped countless individuals to find employment and take ownership of their professional brands. Alysse has a particular passion for helping underserved and marginalized communities. Alysse is a proud graduate of Tufts University and is very excited to be co-hosting this session. Go Jumbos!
