We live in a time of crisis and multiple sources of daily stress. In response to these circumstances, Professors Lisa Shin and Sam Sommers of the Tufts Department of Psychology created a new course for students titled The Science of Coping. Join us for a sampling of that course, in which two research scientists—one a clinical neuroscientist, one a social psychologist—introduce you to research theories and findings you can apply to your own life in concrete ways. Topics include strategies for coping with stress and regulating emotion; the importance of nutrition, sleep, and exercise; the effects of social connection; navigating misinformation and conspiracy theories.
