Join us for a screening of “Stranger at the Gate,” a new documentary from filmmaker Joshua Seftel, A90, Emmy-nominated series of short films challenging people to rethink their assumptions and misconceptions about Muslims. This film also features Eric Nichols, A11, and Anna Bick Rowe, A12, as Executive Producers and Avi Bond, A21, as Impact Coordinator and Associate Producer. Director Joshua Seftel will be on the Q&A panel in person following the screening.

 

Joshua Seftel is an NYC-based Emmy Award-winning director. His films include Taking on the Kennedys (POV), Peabody-Finalist Secret Life of Muslims, IDA Award-winning The Many Sad Fates of Mr. Toledano (NYTimes Op-Docs), and the political satire War, Inc. (Tribeca) starring John Cusack, Marisa Tomei, Hilary Duff, and Ben Kingsley.

 

About “Stranger at the Gate”
After 25 years of service, U.S. Marine Mac McKinney returns home to Indiana filled with an all-consuming rage toward the people he had been fighting against. Still fueled by his desire to fight for his country, he plans to bomb the local mosque. But when he comes face to face with the community of Afghan refugees and others of Muslim faith that he seeks to kill, his plan takes an unexpected turn.
