Jumbos helping jumbos, through the Tufts Elephant Conservation Alliance
Wild elephants are among the most endangered animals in the world, and their numbers are reduced every year by illegal poaching and habitat destruction. The Tufts Elephant Conservation Alliance (TECA) unites faculty and students across the university to protect these rare and beautiful animals.
Elephants are a beloved Tufts emblem and a keystone species in their native ecosystem. Tufts has signature strengths in several areas critical to elephant conservation, including veterinary medicine, environmental sciences, diplomacy, and public health. Through student and faculty research, education, and global partnerships, TECA is focusing these strengths and making an important contribution to elephant conservation.
Your gift will advance TECA’s vital efforts to save wild elephants—a proud symbol for Tufts and an irreplaceable part of the natural world.
