Supporting Athletics Facilities

Tufts has a bold plan for the future of athletics and recreation facilities. A variety of dramatic improvements will set the collegiate standard and have an immediate positive impact for our student-athletes and entire university community. When a student-athlete competes, a university competes. It’s time to take our facilities to the next level. Be a part of this Jumbo effort.

A Message from John Morris, Director of Athletics

John Morris"To continue attracting the best students, faculty, and staff to Tufts and recruiting the highest-caliber student athletes and coaches, it’s imperative that we provide athletics and recreation facilities on par with those of our peers and national competitors. The new master facilities plan will not only enable Tufts Athletics to maintain its leadership position in the NESCAC and Division III but will also position us to better support the university’s educational mission, provide a transformational experience to all Tufts students, and help improve the health and wellness of our campus community."

A Broader Plan

The Athletics Facilities Master Plan also features a new ice rink and enhancements to the Ellis Oval complex. Details will be posted as the scope and plans for these projects are finalized. To learn more about how you can be involved and ways to support each of these projects, please contact Mark Adzigian, A88, senior associate director of development for athletics at mark.adzigian@tufts.edu or 617-627-0376.

  • Since 2010, the Jumbos have won 11 NCAA team championships—including four for men's soccer and three each for softball and men's lacrosse—and have earned eight consecutive top-10 finishes in the Learfield Directors’ Cup.
  • At Tufts, excellence in athletics and academics go hand in hand. Our Jumbo teams have an average combined GPA above 3.40, and our student-athletes receive national scholar-athlete of the year awards, Academic All-American honors, and more.
  • Jumbos are committed to community service. Six Jumbo teams partner with Team IMPACT to support boys and girls facing chronic illnesses, and our student-athletes devote countless hours to supporting dozens of different causes and organizations each year.
