Combining strengths from many disciplines to advance cyber security

Cyber security impacts nearly every aspect of our lives, from the devices we carry, to the information stored by financial institutions and governments. Tufts scholars from multiple fields are conducting innovative studies in cyber security and designing new tools and strategies to make information systems more resilient.

To explore cyber security in its full complexity, faculty from the Department of Computer Science are partnering with scholars at the Fletcher School’s International Security Studies Program. This collaboration will spur exciting work in areas of common interest, such as the threat of cyber warfare and risks to civil society. New work by computer science faculty, including breakthroughs in visual analytics, machine learning, and enhanced use of programming languages has important implications in global security.
