Turning research into solutions for global nutrition
The goal of Tufts’ Nutrition Innovation Lab (NIL) is to make large and lasting improvements to maternal and child health through integrated interventions of agriculture, nutrition and health.
As part of USAID’s Feed the Future initiative, the NIL works closely with academic and government partners around the world, with particular focus in Africa and Asia, including Uganda, Nepal, Cambodia, and Bangladesh. NIL conducts research in the interlocking aspects of nutrition and health—for example, studies of aflatoxin, a fungi that contaminates crops and may be transmitted through breastmilk—and uses that knowledge to create effective policies and programs.
Another primary aim of the lab is to build the capacity of individuals and governments in host countries to address malnutrition. Donor support is crucial to our success in all these efforts to improving global health. Make a gift today.
