A once-in-a-lifetime trip to see the last remaining apes in Uganda, affectionately called the “Pearl of Africa” by Winston Churchill. Only 850 mountain gorillas still make their home in the primeval forests of central Africa. Intimately experience these animals and other primates in their natural habitat. Tufts very own Dr. Felicia Nutter, Assistant Professor and Director of the International Veterinary Medicine at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine will lead this trip. Dr. Nutter research interests range from infectious disease ecology, to veterinary medical contributions to endangered species conservation.
