Jianmin Qu, Dean of the School of Engineering and Karol Family Professor, invites alumni, parents, and friends to a special webinar featuring Professor Karen Panetta, Dean of Graduate Education, School of Engineering and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Professor Panetta has been at the forefront of using artificial intelligence (AI) to create solutions that benefit humanity. While AI offers huge potential, it is not a magic pill unto itself; rather AI needs to be curated by human experts and informed with robust data. She has done just that at Tufts – creating AI solutions to identify oral cancer and COVID-19 pneumonia in patients, detect wrong-way drivers, and help preserve the endangered African elephant. Professor Panetta has excelled at creating diverse and inclusive research teams, and her collaborative research within the School of Engineering and across other schools at Tufts offers exciting possibilities for building a brighter world for us all. We look forward to “seeing” you there!
