Join Tufts  Pride on the Hill for Tim White’s Lesbian and Gay History Walking Tour. This tour will feature this iconic neighborhood from the colonial era to the 21st century. Famous villagers such as Audre Lord, Willa Cather, Larry Kramer, and many others will be discussed, as well as visitors such as Oscar Wilde. Our tour will explore how Greenwich Village's age and street grid helped it become a gay and lesbian mecca in the 20th century.  Tim earned his Ph.D. in urban history at Columbia and has been doing walking tours since the year 2000. After the tour, we head to a happy hour at a local bar.  Please wear sneakers or comfortable walking shoes!

Exact meeting place will be sent to attendees in advance of the event date.
