Professor Steve Chapra is the Louis Berger Chair of Environmental Engineering at Tufts. He received his PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan and has published several technical publications including eight textbooks. Steve’s research focuses on protecting the water-quality of rivers, lakes, and estuaries. Over his career, he has lived and travelled extensively through Europe and has studied many of the great European waterways including the lakes and rivers of Tuscany. He now spends several months each summer in Northern Italy where he teaches at the University of Brescia and studies the Italian Pre-Alpine lakes.
