How is a new alumni chapter started?
  1. Express Interest:
Reach out to Rachel Shaul, Assistant Director of Volunteer Engagement in the Office of Alumni Engagement (OAE).

  2. Build a Team & Complete New Chapter Application:
Assemble a team of dedicated volunteers who can help with various tasks. Having a strong support system is crucial for running a successful chapter. OAE can help identify potential volunteers.
Once assembled, there is a form to complete to be officially recognized as a chapter with identified volunteer leadership. Rachel can provide the form and guide volunteers through the process.

  3. Understand the Requirements:
Approved chapters will receive the Regional and Affinity Volunteer Toolkit which includes responsibilities and expectations of a chapter leader. This includes organizing events, managing budgets, and engaging with alumni.

  4. Plan and Execute Events:
Start planning events and activities that will engage the alumni community. This could include networking events, social gatherings, or professional development workshops.
