Travel Subsidy

Limited funds are available to help defray some of the cost of traveling to campus for the LEAD IT 2018 Summit.  Funding priority will be given to recent alumni who graduated in in the last ten years (2008 – 2018).  This resource was established to primarily assist recent graduates who otherwise could not afford to attend the Summit.

Transportation expenses that will be considered include: coach airfare, fares for train, bus, car rentals, tolls, private automobile mileage (reimbursement is based on the prevailing IRS rate of .55 cents/mile).  Accommodation costs, conference fees or gasoline expenses are not considered for the subsidy. We reserve the right to decline reimbursement for expenses that do not meet these criteria. 

Because funds available for subsidies are limited and will be offered on a first come first serve basis, we may not be able to accommodate all requests.

  • For domestic travelers who meet the aforementioned criteria, we will reimburse travel expenses up to a maximum of $300 per person.
  • For international travelers who meet the aforementioned criteria, we will reimburse travel expenses up to a maximum of $400 per person.

All subsidy applicants will be notified about the outcome of their request within three business days of receipt of application.

Recipients must attend the Summit in order to receive the subsidy.  Receipts for all travel expenses  must be submitted to the Office of Alumni Relations no later than Wednesday, November 21, 2018.  Checks will be mailed to subsidy recipients two to three weeks after receipts have been received by the Office of Alumni Relations.
