Cristelle Baskins

Cristelle Baskins taught Art History at Tufts from 1997-2020. Her courses included Renaissance and Baroque (especially in Florence, Rome, and Venice), as well as seminars in the Art of Travel. Her book on portraits of the King of Tunis was published in 2022 by Palgrave Macmillan press. Future projects involve the interaction of people, goods, and images in the western Mediterranean and North Africa. On this trip she will talk about how tapestries, murals, and prints commemorated militay conflicts, diplomacy, and migration between Iberia and the Maghreb.
