Lew Edgers

Lewis Edgers is Professor Emeritus of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Tufts University.   He earned his BS in Civil Engineering at Tufts and his MS and PhD at MIT. He has served as faculty host for several Travel-Learn trips including trips to The Scottish Isles and Norwegian Fjords. For extended periods of time and on numerous occasions Prof. Edgers has lived in Norway and has traveled extensively through Scandinavia and Northern Europe.  He is a registered professional engineer and a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers. 

During this program, Prof. Edgers will discuss natural hazards and energy resources of the region. He will focus on Norway’s unique twin roles as a major oil and gas producer and a strong global advocate of climate change mitigation. He will discuss developments in renewable energy, especially wind, and the threats posed by climate change.
