Monroe France

Monroe France is the inaugural Vice Provost for Institutional Inclusive Excellence at Tufts University and a professor of practice at the Jonathan Tisch College of Civic Life. Prior to Tufts, he spent nearly 20 years at New York University (NYU), where he served as Senior Associate Vice President for Global Engagement and Inclusive Leadership. With 25 years of experience spanning higher education, nonprofits, corporate sectors, and the arts, he is a recognized strategist, educator, and keynote speaker on diversity, equity, and inclusion, social responsibility, and leadership.

Monroe has consulted globally for organizations such as American Eagle Outfitters, Unilever, and the American Repertory Theater at Harvard, while also collaborating with UN Women and other United Nations affiliates. At NYU, he founded the Global Inclusive Leadership and Management Institute and the Environmental and Justice Institute.

At Tufts, Monroe leads efforts to advance institutional inclusive excellence, ensuring a holistic approach to diversity across ethnicities, national origins, gender identities, religions, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities. He serves on the boards of Global Black Pride and the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, is a member of the Future Talent Council, and contributes to inclusion initiatives, talent acquisition, and future skills initiatives. Monroe is a visiting professor at NYU Abu Dhabi, Woxsen University in India, and the University of Southern Maine’s School of Business. He is widely regarded as a changemaker, global thought leader, and visionary in inclusive leadership.
